I was born and raised in Texas. As a young boy, I was exposed to a rich Texas heritage and its multi-cultures while growing up in small towns like Eagle Pass, Bronte, Harlingen, Kerrville, Refugio, Rockport, Brenham -- and in larger cities like Dallas, Corpus Christi, Bryan-College Station, and San Antonio.

It was during these wonderful years that I developed my affection for the people, wildlife, and colors of this wonderful state. It has been Texas that shaped my approach to drawing and painting.

I began my formal art training in Corpus Christi while attending Del Mar Junior College. From there I attended the Kansas City Art Institute and later the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.

After independent studies in Europe, I returned to Texas where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation I pursued careers in commercial art, photography and promotions while working for advertising agencies and newspapers throughout the country. (see RÉSUMÉ)

While working in the newspaper industry, I first received national recognition as a syndicated cartoonist publishing a comic feature, The Goforths.

I later received international publicity for a newspaper promotion. My big idea was to stack 52,325 rolled newspapers in front of The Pueblo (CO) Chieftain. This world record promotion was later copied by a newspaper company in Tasmania!

And in 2000, my fine art painting, "A Little Dab of Texas," was certified as a Guinness World Record for Most Painters -- One Picture.
