Confetti Color

The development of this new painting style began and evolved while I was a newspaper photographer and illustrator. I call this style of painting Confetti Color because the surface of my pictures are covered with dots and patterns of brightly colored paint.

Depending on where color is applied, the subject in a painting can be obvious or camouflaged.

Obvious: When dots or patterns of color are placed around a subject in a painting, the subject stands out - - like a mat around a picture. Notice how the whitetail buck (above left) stands out from the background.

Camouflaged Image: However, when dots or patterns of color are placed on a subject, the subject blends into the background - - like a natural camouflage. Notice how the Rio Grande Turkey (above right) blends into the background.

The paintings below were created in the Confetti Color style.
