A painting for the people and by the people.

UNVEILED AT THE TEXAS STATE CAPITOL IN AUSTIN

From Sept. 4-13, 1998, the painting was officially unveiled and exhibited
at the Texas State Capitol in the downstairs rotunda.

A special thanks to State Representative Dan Kubiak, Nelda Laney,
and Joel Romo.

EXHIBITED ON CAPITOL HILL, WASHINGTON, D.C.

From Dec. 7-11, 1998, the painting was exhibited in the rotunda of the
Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

A special thanks to U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and her staff, the capitol police officers (and the bomb-sniffing dog that searched my trailer & van, and ate my Chee-tos), Dave Barie, Jason and Ellen Hopson, and the U. S. Marine Honor Guards (who helped
me set up).

DISPLAYED DURING THE 33rd ANNUAL TEXAS
LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE

On March 25-26, 1999, the painting was exhibited at the 33rd Annual Texas
Legislative Conference held in New Braunfels, Texas. A framed print was given to the 1999 Texan-of-the-Year, Max Sherman.

A special thanks to Debbie and Jerry Odom, Michael Meek and his staff at
The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.

THIRTEEN CITY TOUR

Since the picture was created in sections, the volunteers who painted only saw the panels they worked on. Once completed, a 13-city tour was set up giving the participating painters a chance to see the the whole 48' long picture. In each town, an art gallery hosted a reception for the painters - - mailing a special invitation to each participant. Local residents were also invited to the exhibition. The artwork appeared in the following locations throughout Texas.
